    Salt enhances everything: salty, savory, sweet (cookies and cake), and even bitter things like brussels sprouts and broccoli. I guess I'm doing vibrato all day every day (⌐▨_▨) Just kidding lol, thanks for the lesson!

    I played the trumpet since I was in 4th grade and I’m thinking about trying something new now that I haven’t been playing for a year since I had to drop band. I was thinking either the corner or I think the Fluegelhorn so I don’t have to relearn any keys and start practicing some jazz lol.

    I didn’t even know the main tuning slide was a slide until about 3 months ago maybe, and then I couldn’t use it because it is stuck. At least I know I can tune pretty alright just with my mouth though haha. I will take it to get fixed eventually I knew about the other slides so I moved them occasionally but never actually used them. I also learnt about alternate fingerings really recently and also how to oil valves properly. I am very surprised by the fact that I have survived failing to look after my instrument for years

    Your tip about blowing air through the mouthpiece and then tightening slightly to attain a buzz is terrific. Thank you.

    I've played trumpet in marching band before but I don't know trumpet is tuneable holy cow,so that's what those slidy thing was for,i thought you take that off to easily cleaning the condensation inside the trumpet.the coach doesn't mention anything about tuning.

    I try to play the cornet. In the beginning not quite as good as I hoped. When I placed the mouthpiece higher (far more toplip in the mouthpiece) with more pressure on the bottom lip it went much better.

    Why do you not recommend the use of practice mute all the time?

    • @TrumpetMasterClasseswithDrBria
      @TrumpetMasterClasseswithDrBria 2 роки тому

      Because the resistance is different than when you play without the mute, so it changes your airflow and everything.

    Wonderful video. Shows all the sounds. I used to practice the b flat trumpet in our basement. Arban's Book over and over. My trumpet teacher would smash up music stands if you didn't practice.

    Instantly better than before. I have problems over years for biting to much and didn't know how to handle it. Now I can really work on my endurance without getting angry after 15min playing. I only wanted to see other breathing technics, but I got 2 important things. Thanks alot dude👍👌

    0:57 This Natrual Trumpet is pitched in the Key of D which is really common for alot of music. It's twice the length of a Modern D Trumpet so it's an Octave lower. Baroque Trumpets are the same thing as Natrual Trumpets but they have Finger Holes added to them so that it's easier to play the notes more in tune which is really really important.

    I was in band for 1 year in middle school, I originally played the Trumpet, when about a 1/3 of the way through the school year, someone stole my trumpet and the band teacher had to give me her cornet because they didn’t have any extra trumpets, I remember enjoying the sound a lot more. 20 years old now, full time job but with a lot of free time, decided to get back into playing to fill the time and for fun and wasn’t sure if I would want a cornet or trumpet more. This video has helped me decide, definitely going to get a cornet.

    Does the grip affect flexibility and connecting low and high registers?

    • @TrumpetMasterClasseswithDrBria
      @TrumpetMasterClasseswithDrBria 2 роки тому

      I find that the grip just helps with consistency since my lips aren't slipping around so much. Some people like the more slippery feel and think that helps their flexibility; others, not so much. It's really personal preference.

    I've found that The lip/jaw vibrato should be the only vibrato type that horn players should use as that's the best way and allows you to master your air flow better.
